FilmShuffle is a place to discover, discuss, rate, rank, and celebrate films. Strong opinions are welcome. Abuse, exploitation, manipulation, and conduct that makes the community unsafe are not.

These Guidelines apply to profiles, reviews, ratings, rankings, Film Logs, comments, lists, Tier lists, Film Clubs, usernames, profile information, images, uploads, reactions, votes, reports, links, and other content or activity made available through FilmShuffle now or later.

These Guidelines are part of the FilmShuffle Terms of Use.

Who may participate

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or submit community content. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use FilmShuffle.

People under 16 may browse public pages and use a guest ranking demonstration where available, but they may not publish content, create an account, or participate in community features.

Do not misrepresent your age or help another person bypass an age restriction.

1. Share the love of film, not contempt for people

Critique a film, performance, argument, review, rating, ranking, or list without attacking the person who made it.

Do not harass, threaten, intimidate, shame, stalk, bully, sexually pressure, or encourage others to target another person. Repeated unwanted contact can constitute harassment even when each individual message appears mild.

Do not create or use another account to continue unwanted contact, evade a block or restriction, or recruit other people to contact someone on your behalf.

Disagreement, criticism, negative reviews, low ratings, and unpopular opinions do not by themselves constitute harassment.

2. Hate, threats, and dehumanization are not allowed

Do not praise, promote, threaten, encourage, or incite hatred, violence, discrimination, exclusion, or dehumanization against a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, nationality, religion, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, serious health condition, age, veteran status, or another characteristic protected by applicable law.

Slurs, coded language, symbols, memes, and supposed jokes may violate this rule when context shows they are being used to attack, threaten, intimidate, or dehumanize.

Do not make credible threats of violence against a person, group, school, business, venue, organization, or other target.

3. Sexual exploitation, intimate imagery, and adult sexual content

Never post, request, distribute, threaten to share, or link to child sexual abuse material or sexual content involving anyone under 18.

Do not engage in grooming, sextortion, sexual exploitation, trafficking, or sexual solicitation involving a minor.

Do not post, create, or distribute nonconsensual intimate imagery, including real, altered, or artificially generated images or videos depicting an identifiable person without consent. Do not threaten to create or distribute intimate material involving another person.

Pornography, explicit sexual activity, exposed genitals, and sexualized nudity are not permitted in profiles, uploads, comments, Clubs, or other community areas.

Good-faith textual discussion or criticism of sex, sexuality, nudity, or sexual material appearing in a film is permitted when relevant to film discussion and when the discussion itself does not violate these Guidelines.

A depicted person or authorized representative may use FilmShuffle’s Intimate Image Removal process without an account. Never re-upload the image merely to report it.

4. Suicide, self-harm, violence, and graphic harm

Do not encourage, instruct, pressure, or glorify suicide, self-harm, eating-disorder behavior, or violent acts.

Do not post graphic depictions of real-world death, severe injury, abuse, or bodily harm primarily to shock, threaten, celebrate, or glorify suffering.

Good-faith discussion of difficult subjects in films, history, news, criticism, or personal experience may be permitted when it does not encourage harmful conduct.

Credible threats or apparent imminent danger may be reported to appropriate emergency, safety, or law-enforcement authorities when FilmShuffle believes doing so is appropriate or legally required.

5. Respect privacy and personal boundaries

Do not reveal, solicit, trade, or threaten to reveal another person’s private address, telephone number, financial information, login credentials, government identifiers, intimate information, precise nonpublic location, or other sensitive personal information without authorization.

Do not post private communications primarily to harass, expose, shame, threaten, or intimidate another person.

Do not move a dispute off FilmShuffle to continue harassment or unwanted contact. Do not bypass a block, use another account to resume contact, or interfere with a safety restriction.

Never upload a ticket, screenshot, photograph, or document that exposes a barcode, home address, payment detail, authentication code, or another person’s private information without permission.

6. Mark spoilers

A Film Log review that reveals a meaningful plot development must use the Contains spoilers option.

Do not place significant spoilers in usernames, profile information, list or Tier titles, Club names, unprotected comments, or other places where another person cannot reasonably choose whether to reveal them.

Moderators may add, preserve, restore, or correct a spoiler label. Repeatedly removing or evading spoiler protections may lead to enforcement.

7. Post your own work and respect intellectual property

Do not plagiarize reviews or upload, copy, distribute, or make available writing, images, audio, video, or other material that you do not have the right to use.

Short quotations or limited excerpts used for genuine criticism, commentary, or discussion should be attributed where practical. Attribution alone does not necessarily make a use lawful.

Do not remove copyright notices, watermarks, credits, or rights-management information from material you post.

Copyright owners and authorized representatives may use FilmShuffle’s Copyright and DMCA process. Users who repeatedly infringe intellectual-property rights may have their accounts terminated in appropriate circumstances.

8. Do not impersonate or materially deceive people

Do not pretend to be another person, critic, filmmaker, company, publication, organization, rights holder, or FilmShuffle employee or moderator.

Do not create a username, profile, badge, image, statement, or Club that falsely suggests verification, endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or an official relationship that does not exist.

Parody, fan, and commentary accounts are permitted only when they do not create a realistic risk of confusion, fraud, harassment, or harm.

Do not use altered, fabricated, deepfake, or AI-generated material to scam, impersonate, threaten, exploit, or knowingly deceive another person about a material fact. When synthetic content could reasonably be mistaken for authentic material, label it clearly.

9. Keep reviews, ratings, rankings, and recommendations authentic

Reviews, Film Logs, ratings, rankings, reactions, votes, and recommendations should reflect genuine activity and opinions.

Do not falsely claim or imply that you watched a film, attended a screening, or had an experience that did not occur.

Do not create fabricated reviews, fake audience experiences, or automatically generated opinions for the purpose of falsely representing genuine audience sentiment.

If you received compensation, free access, gifts, employment, professional credit, or another material benefit connected to a film or its promotion, clearly disclose the relationship when it could affect how another person interprets your review or recommendation.

Do not buy, sell, trade, or condition payment or benefits on positive or negative reviews, ratings, rankings, reactions, votes, or other engagement.

Do not coordinate review bombing, rating manipulation, brigades, false reports, or attempts to distort FilmShuffle’s rankings, charts, voting, recommendations, discovery, or moderation systems.

10. No spam, scams, malicious software, or unauthorized automation

Do not use FilmShuffle for spam, scams, phishing, malware, fraudulent schemes, deceptive promotions, or unsolicited repetitive links.

Do not buy, sell, trade, transfer, or automate accounts, reactions, comments, rankings, Club activity, reports, or other engagement except through functionality FilmShuffle expressly authorizes.

Do not use bots, scripts, fake accounts, coordinated accounts, or other artificial means to manufacture engagement or manipulate another person’s experience.

Do not attempt unauthorized access, exploit bugs, scrape or harvest private information, evade technical restrictions, interfere with security systems, or disrupt the Service.

Do not perform security testing against FilmShuffle without prior written authorization. Report vulnerabilities privately through Contact/Support rather than exploiting them or publicly disclosing details that create additional risk.

11. Film Clubs and shared spaces

Club hosts may establish a topic, schedule, format, journey, voting system, or reasonable participation rules. Club rules cannot override these Guidelines, the Terms, or law.

Keep submissions reasonably relevant to the Club and respect its participation and voting rules. Club hosts may manage membership, remove permitted Club content where tools allow, or archive a Club.

FilmShuffle may separately remove content, restrict activity, remove members, restrict or close a Club, or take other action when conduct creates a safety, legal, integrity, or platform-wide concern.

Private, invitation-only, or members-only Clubs are not exempt from these Guidelines.

12. Reporting, blocking, and specialized requests

Use the report action attached to a profile, review, comment, Club submission, or other content when available. Select the closest reason and provide concise, accurate context.

Use blocking tools to limit interactions with another user. Blocking may remove or limit relationships and future interactions, but it cannot erase content someone already received or prevent a signed-out person from viewing content that remains public.

For copyright, intimate imagery, privacy, safety, legal, or technical concerns that require a specialized process, use the appropriate option through Contact/Support. A general community report does not replace a formal copyright notice or intimate-image removal request.

Reports are handled as privately as reasonably possible, but FilmShuffle may share information when needed to investigate, protect someone, comply with law, or enforce policies.

Do not threaten another person with reports as a form of intimidation, coordinate reports to punish disagreement, misuse reporting systems, or knowingly provide false or materially misleading information.

A report is a request for review, not a vote for automatic removal.

13. How moderation and enforcement work

FilmShuffle may consider content, context, severity, intent, impact, history, patterns, likelihood of harm, and risk to users or the Service.

Possible actions include:

  • adding or preserving a spoiler label;
  • removing or disabling content;
  • limiting distribution or visibility;
  • issuing a warning;
  • restricting features or making an account read-only;
  • limiting interactions between users;
  • removing someone from a Club;
  • restricting or closing a Club;
  • temporarily suspending an account; or
  • permanently terminating an account.

FilmShuffle is not required to use these measures in a particular order. Severe conduct may result in immediate suspension or termination. Repeated lower-level violations may result in stronger action over time.

FilmShuffle may act against attempts to evade enforcement, including creating or using another account to bypass a suspension, restriction, block, or protective measure.

FilmShuffle may use automated systems, human review, user reports, or a combination of them. Automated and human systems can make mistakes.

An eligible user may request human review of a moderation decision through Contact/Support. The original action generally remains effective during review. A review request does not guarantee reversal. FilmShuffle may be unable to disclose reporter identities, private information, security methods, or every detail of an investigation.

14. Illegal activity and emergencies

Do not use FilmShuffle to plan, solicit, promote, facilitate, or participate in illegal activity, including fraud, theft, trafficking, exploitation, malicious hacking, unlawful sales, or violence.

Discussion of crime, illegal activity, controversial subjects, or their depiction in films is permitted when the discussion itself does not facilitate prohibited conduct.

FilmShuffle and FilmShuffle support are not emergency, medical, mental-health, or law-enforcement services. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service for that person’s location.

15. Changes to these Guidelines

FilmShuffle may update these Guidelines as features, laws, platform risks, and abuse patterns change. Material updates will receive any notice required by the Terms or applicable law.
